Hospitality within Families

The Purpose: to help young people throughout the world to live and experience the Jubilee Year 2000 by participating in the World Day for Youth.

The period: from 14 to 20 August 2000.

What hospitality involves: having one or more young pilgrims, who will come to Rome for GMG 2000 during the specified period.

The minimum requirement: the possibility of using a sleeping-bag even on the floor, and use the toilets in the house.

How much availability: the kindness to offer breakfast (however, this is not compulsory), checking that these young people can be at home at least from 11 p.m. at night until 8 a.m. in the morning.

What is guaranteed: young pilgrims arrive in organised groups led by a person in charge (a guarantor) to whom young people report to: they have rules and timings to be observed. Therefore they are not isolated and not even unrecognized. In addition all young pilgrims will be insured.
It is important for each family who will be welcoming guests to get in touch with the parish priest and the parish secretariat for GMG 2000.

Registration: it is necessary to fill in a voucher, get it signed by the parish priest or take it directly to the GMG Committee who will organize putting in touch the responsible welcoming person with the families according to the zone they belong to.
