One
of the special and sensitive aspects of World Youth Day, GMG2000, which
regards every sphere of activity for its preparation and celebration, not
only spiritual but also material, is self-financing. During the GMG in
Denver, Manila and Paris, we saw how the variety of souvenir objects and
material effectively created an atmosphere of belonging as well producing
economic support thanks to which the Days were a total success (almost
without hitches!) For Roma2000, the Comitato Italiano for GMG has produced
a series of symbols and gadgets bearing the World Youth Day l Logo
which it is anxious to make known. Here, together with the pastoral
elements of preparation, we show examples of the gadgets and symbols
prepared. Young people speak and communicate through things they wear: it
is a sort of identification, it is a way of opting for a certain way of
thinking. We want to show that we are with the Pope . |
