Logo Description

Observing the "logo" you can notice that one single image unifies the three characteristic elements of the XV World Youth Day: the place, the protagonists, and the spirit of the meeting.
The city of Rome is evoked through the stylization of St. Peter's dome and Bernini's colonnade.
The image of the dome reminds us of the reality of the Church and the person of the Holy Father. The young people, co-protagonists of the event, are identified in a single sign, simple and irregular, similar to a circle that symbolizes the younger generations as a whole.
The meeting of the Pope with the youth is expressed by a mutual embrace in which no one remains passive: each one is, at the same time, giving and receiving agent.
Three plain colours of the same tone have been chosen: yellow, orange, and red. Yellow and red are the symbol colours for the city of Rome, and the shaded tones of the orange underline the dynamic meeting and embrace.
