For this initiative, the supporters from Calabria, the students of the Art Institute “Frangipane”, have been called together with the diocesan responsibles for the youth pastoral in Reggio Calabria. For many days, the youth in groups of ten, taking their turn, have built up, piece by  piece, this big banner. The material is normally used for the inner pockets of jeans in all, one could sew pockets for 5000 pairs of trousers. This project was realised by the students of the Art Institute of “Frangipane” who together with the supporters have sewed and coloured the logo of the XV World Youth Day, which will be celebrated from the 15th of 20th August, in Rome.

The responsibles of the National Service for the youth pastoral think of the stadium as one of the areas where the youth can meet and exchange their experiences to one another. That is why, this work, supported by the youth pastoral, represents a pastoral choice and pledge towards the new generations.

“It was not so difficult to put together people who seem to be apparently very different" explains Gino Arcudi, the director of the youth pastoral for the dioceses of Reggio-Calabria. “We called together the ultra leaders, and some groups of supporters who have comprehended the meaning of this initiative of which they were the protagonists." The most important result was bringing together the students, supporters and the youth from churches, who, 100 days before the WYD, that how we demonstrated that we can meet around a message of Faith as that which the Young Church will propose to the world during the 15th World Youth Day.
