About 300 initiative activities, thought and realised by some groups of youth from 30 different countries of the 5 Continents, will receive the hospitality in 260 places in Rome and of 12 nearby dioceses . This event, called “INCONTRAGIOVANI” by the “Italian Committee for the 15^th  World Youth Day, will be inspired by the theme that John Paul II thought for the WYD: “The “Word became flesh and came to live in our midst”. 

Several proposals

Concerts on Classical music, pop music, moments of prayer animated by the youth, continued by the reading of the Gospel, ecumenical meetings, ballets and theatre shows, choirs, art exhibition, movies realised by the youth and multimedia show. For 3 days, from the 16^th  to the 18^th  of August Rome will become a great open-air stage with Squares, churches, open-air spaces, sport structures, parks etc. Everyentrance is gratis. Everybody will be able to share the party, in the prayers, the dialogue of the Young Church and his Jubilee.

Some Manifestations

There will be the "Expo Missionaria",in the Abbazia delle 4 Fontane, where there will be the spreading of the Message of the evangelisation and the culture of people will be suggested "On the traces of St.Paul";or the Cafe’ of Jubilatio, that will be: cultural, musical, cybernetic or about the Faith.(this last, in the Pontificial  University St. Thomas of Aquinas). Initiatives of various international organisations interest the youth from all over the world at the same time, for instance  the community Emmanuel that will work in the church of St. Agnes in Agone, in Piazza Navona. From every metropolis of the world the "Fraternita’ Monastica of Gerusalemme" will make her “Oasi di Silenzio e preghiera nel cuore della citta"(Oasis of silence and prayer in the heart of the city), in this situation will be St. Andrew of Valle. There will be time dedicated a ballet show that will see an important protagonist, in San Silvestro in capite’s church, a group of religious women.

Countries of proviniency 

The youth who will animate the days of the WYD will be coming from every regions of Italy, from Argentina, Camerun, Lituania, Malawi, Madagascar, Singapore, Vietnam, Syria, Spain, France, Poland, Chile, South Korea, Japan. During the WYD everybody will talk about his folklore tradition, culture, history, all related to the same theme: the desire to witness and to communicate the faith in the  original way.
