There will be 300.000 youth (of whom there are those come from countries still immersed in war) who will participate tomorrow, Friday 19^th  of August at 8.30 pm, in the Way of the Cross presided by the vicar of Rome, Card. Camillo Ruini. The rite, for which will be utilised the Cross of the Holy Year, will begin from the church of Santa Maria at Ara Coeli and will finish at Colosseo, as the Television, Raitre, will follow the rite.

Following the tradition there will be 14 stations and the contemplations of these “mysteries” will begin with the washing of the feet, institution of the Holy Sacrament of the Eucherist during the last supper, from the betrayal of Judas to the negation of Peter, from the promise of the Kingdom to the good thief crucified to the dialogue of Jesus with Mary and the disciple He loved. In every station there will be a passage from the Bible proclaimed  (in the five languages of the day), a meditation proposed and the offering of a witness followed by the invocation of Kyrie eleison, by the Our Father and a hymn.

Youth coming from Germany, Salvador, Italy, Indonesia Spain, United States, Palestinia Territory, Filipines, Ruanda France, Bolivia, Poland, Guinea and from Mozambico. At the end of the rite, in Colosseo, will be proclaimed the hymn of the Letter of St. Paul to the Filippians, to underline the pasqual mitery of death and ressrection.

During the way of the ross, will be projected on the high walls of Coloseo and on the mega screens along the road, riproductions of certain famous of art which will illustrate the passion of Jesus Christ. To go to the particulars, there will be paintings from Cimabue (Crocifisso, Firenze, Galleria degli uffizi); Duccio di Boninsegna, (politico, Siena, Museo del Duomo); Giotto, Storie del Nuovo Testamento, (Padova, Cappella degli scrovegni) on which one can meditate.

The youth who will not partecipate in these rites presided by Card. Ruini, will cellebrate the Way of the Cross in the various zones of Rome and in the dioceses nearby. All these always on Friday 18 of August in the afternoon or in the evening.
