Hundreds of suggestions have arrived at the offices of the Italian Committee for the 15^th World Day of Youth, from groups who are preparing for the WDY in dioceses all over the world.  Above all, of course, concerts of light music, but classical music is not forgotten:  moments of prayer inspired by the young, constant readings of the Gospel, ecumenical encounters, dance and theatre shows, choral concerts, art exhibitions, cinema projections by young people, and even multi-media shows.

Where do they come from?

The young people who will be celebrating the days of WDY2000 come from all regions of Italy, and from Argentina, Cameroun, Lithuania, Malawi, Madagascar, Singapore, Vietnam, Syria, Spain, France, Portugal, Chile, South Korea, Japan – to name but a few.  Each one will bring to the WDY2000 his or her own traditions, culture, and personal history, and all will be linked to a single thread, the Faith and the desire to witness to it, even in unaccustomed ways.
