One of the points which has characterised the World Day of Youth from the beginning is the adoption of self-financing to cover the costs of organisation at all levels. Contributory participation takes place through various forms of intervention which can be summarised as follows: 1. A request for a participatory contribution to cover the costs of food, accommodation, insurance, transport, organisation, etc., which for 6 complete days amounts to 240,000 lire, a figure which is modified according to the number of days stayed;
2.
A
request for financial and technical contributions from public and private
bodies and Foundations; 3.
Sponsorisation,
requested mainly from supply firms or those involved in the organisation of
the World Day; 4.
Distribution
of books, CDs and cassettes, in addition to objects carrying the logo of the
WDY.
The
expenses related to the adaption of the area of Tor Vergata, except for
those which will be sustained for the platform and certain mobile
services, will be paid
by the public administration.
